Bee the Hero
Welcome to Treasures of the Golden Bee Movie
More Than a Movie
There is a story most people have not heard yet.
Right now, across the United States, beekeepers are facing one of the worst pollinator die-offs in recorded history. Between the summer of 2024 and spring of 2025, over 1.7 million bee colonies were lost. That is more than 60 percent of commercial beekeeping colonies in the country. Some beekeepers lost everything.
But this is not just about bees. Bees and pollinators are responsible for three out of every four crops that feed people and animals on this planet. Without them, the fruits, vegetables, and flowering plants that sustain life as we know it begin to disappear. More than 20,000 species of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, birds, and beetles, are in global decline from habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change. Over 34 percent of native bee species in North America are now at elevated risk of extinction.
The world needs children who grow up understanding why pollinators matter. Children who see bees not as something to fear but as heroes worth protecting.
That is why Treasures of the Golden Bee exists.

The Story
Deep inside an ancient world, two teenage bee heroes, Zara and Koda, set out on the adventure of a lifetime. Their mission: find the legendary Treasures of the Golden Bee, a mythical artifact said to hold the power to restore their hive and save everything they love.
Standing in their way is Drahcir. Ancient, ruthless, and willing to destroy the very world around him to get what he wants.
But beneath every chase, every narrow escape, every moment of impossible courage, is something deeper. A message every child needs to hear:
The greatest treasure you will ever find is already inside you.
Zara teaches courage. Koda teaches loyalty. Together they show children that the most powerful force in the world is not strength or wealth. It is the character you carry within you. And woven throughout their adventure is a world where pollinators are not background noise. They are civilization itself.
Why We Are Building This
Something changed in children’s entertainment.
The stories got louder. The heroes got harder to find. And somewhere along the way the idea that an animated film could teach a child something real, something lasting, something that connects them to the living world became the exception instead of the rule.
Parents noticed. Grandparents noticed. Teachers noticed.
Families across the world have been waiting for something better. Not louder. Not more chaotic. Just better. Stories with values at their core. Stories that reflect the world children will inherit and inspire them to protect it.
Treasures of the Golden Bee is our answer.
It is a wholesome family adventure. A story of courage and loyalty and the bonds that hold communities together. And it is a love letter to the tiny, extraordinary creatures that make life on this planet possible, written for the children who will grow up to decide their fate.
The Mission Behind the Film – About Us
We believe animated storytelling is one of the most powerful tools in the world for shaping how children see themselves and the world around them.
When a child falls in love with Zara and Koda, they do not just fall in love with characters. They fall in love with the world those characters protect. They begin to understand, without being lectured to, without a classroom, without a worksheet, why the hive matters. Why every bee matters. Why every pollinator in every garden and field and forest is doing something irreplaceable.
We are not making a documentary. We are making an adventure. But an adventure can change a child’s relationship to the natural world in ways that no documentary ever will, because it reaches the heart first.
That is the power of story. And that is exactly what we intend to build.
Who We Are
Treasures of the Golden Bee is a production of Urban Television Network Corporation (URBT), a media company with roots going back to 1986. From the beginning, URBT has been built around diverse, values-driven storytelling for communities that Hollywood has historically underserved.
We are storytellers, animators, and parents. We believe original independent film can do something no major studio is willing to do: take a genuine creative risk on a story that actually matters.
The Golden Hive is the community we are building around this film. Founding Producers from every background: parents, grandparents, educators, environmental advocates, and families who believe children deserve better stories. Every person who joins becomes part of something larger than a single movie. They become part of a movement.
The Long View
The movie is not the endpoint.
Treasures of the Golden Bee is the beginning of an animated universe, one built around characters children will grow up with, stories that expand with them, and a community that stays connected around shared values. Characters who teach courage. Characters who model loyalty. A world that shows children what is worth protecting and why.
The bee crisis is real. The need for positive family storytelling is real. The opportunity to build something historic, a community-funded animated franchise that puts pollinators at the center of a great adventure, is right in front of us right now. We are not waiting for Hollywood to do this. We are building it ourselves, one Founding Producer at a time.
What You Can Do
The bees need champions. Children need heroes. And families have been waiting far too long for better stories. Join the Golden Hive. Become a Founding Producer. Help us build the animated universe that children deserve, in a world worth protecting.
A Note About Pollinators
If Treasures of the Golden Bee sparks something in your child a Curiosity, a question, a sudden interest in the garden outside here are three simple things every family can do to help real pollinators right now:
🌸 Plant a pollinator garden. Even a single pot of wildflowers on a balcony provides food for bees and butterflies.
🚫 Choose pesticide-free. Ask your local garden center for bee-safe planting options.
📚 Teach the next generation. Children who understand why pollinators matter grow into adults who protect them. The hive is counting on all of us.
